HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum embraces the concept of green buildings to ensure a healthy and environment-friendly city. At the same time we are experiencing the opposite in the “Greens”: Since December construction is under way to modify Al Dhafrah and Al Thayyal courtyards to fix the water leakage from the planter boxes.
According to current plans 600m² of grass will be replaced by artificial turf and our large trees replaced by small plants in pots. Concrete will replace green !
There must be a better solution to stop the water leakage than to kill the little bit of green in our courtyard.
We are asking for an immediate construction stop and a revised design to preserve our trees and our green.
Preserve our courtyards in AlDhafrah and AlThayyal. Don´t replace the trees and the green by concrete and artifical turf.
The momentum behind this push is undeniable even if the developers keep acting like they do not hear us. We have forced them to acknowledge that this community will not sit back while they replace our living trees with cheap plastic and concrete.

Stop destroying the only decent shade we have. My kids love playing in that grass.

The fake grass looks so cheap and gets way too hot in the summer. Keep the real trees please.

Concrete is a terrible idea for a courtyard. Nobody actually wants these pots everywhere.

We moved here specifically for the greenery. If I wanted to live in a concrete box I would have stayed in my old apartment.
