The Nova Scotia government has decided to scrap the Nova Scotia student retention rebate for students who study in Nova Scotia and stay and work in Nova Scotia. The rebate s $2500 for 5 years starting after graduation. As we all know, students have large student loads, credits, etc. Every province in Canada has an incentive like the $2500 rebate to encourage skilled young people to stay in e province they study in. This removal of a great program will further hurt the already struggling post student population and push those skilled young professionals out west. Sign the petition to show the government we will not take this lying down!!
The momentum behind this fight proves that the Nova Scotia government cannot just ignore our future to save a few bucks. They thought we would stay quiet while they gutted our support system but this surge of pressure shows exactly how wrong they are.

The govt always talks about keeping young people in the province but then they go and do stuff like this. makes no sense.

My loan payments are already killing me. That money was the only thing making staying here possible.

This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to pay off these loans if they keep taking away every bit of help we get? Just another reason to head to Alberta I guess.

SO ANGRY about this! We work hard and study hard and then get punished for it. Do better.
