Making cuts to education is never a smart policy. In their budget-cutting zeal, this is exactly what our MLAs did. In the middle of exams on March 26, NWT post-secondary students received an email letting them know that the scholarship program worth $400,000 annually was discontinued.
Because of rising tuition fees, because of the dramatic reductions in summer student and internship opportunities, and because punishing our best and brightest students can only be a step backwards we ask our MLAs to BRING BACK OUR NWTSFA SCHOLARSHIPS!
PLEASE INCLUDE THE NAME OF YOUR MLA OR RIDING IN THE COMMENT BOX.
I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have stepped up to defend these scholarships. This momentum truly belongs to you and it proves how much our community values the future of our students.

Ridiculous decision. I am in the Range Lake riding and my MLA needs to step up and fix this mess immediately.

SERIOUSLY. Stop balancing the budget on the backs of students who are just trying to get an education. Restore the funding now.

This is ridiculous. Students in the NWT already struggle enough with costs. Dont cut our future just to balance a spreadsheet.

Yellowknife North. Why do we always target education when things get tight? Short sighted and harmful.
