Final supporters
In 2014, the City Council committed to reinvesting in the city’s youth and supported legislation to reestablish the Office on Youth and reappoint members of the community to serve on the Youth Services Commission. 21 years after the Youth Services Commission disbanded, City Council reinstated Commission appointments. City Code, Chapter38- Youth Services defines the Youth Services Commission duties and responsibilities.
It’s often been said that, “Youth are the leaders of tomorrow” or, “Today’s youth are our future.” These are both true, but they are also limiting the potential of our young people. They will be powerful in the future, but they ARE also powerful now. We are in the business of taking the limits off of our young people and challenging them to realize their potential right now. They can and will make great contributions today, and well into the future!.

This travesty makes me embarrassed to admit that I am lifelong resident of Hopewell. It indicates a lack of concern and responsibility for its most vulnerable humans... at-risk children!
Please keep this Office on Youth open. Our youth need opportunities to grow as humans. To experience life situations that most wouldn’t get if not for this program. We are always acknowledging that the youth don’t have anything to do let’s not take one of the most positive avenues they have away. OUR YOUTH MATTER !!!
Children need their own outlet a way to release their frustration and have fun doing it. My sons went to Hopewell High and if the would not hav had sports, there is no telling where they would be...
Without youth activities & guidance outside their homes drives criminal activity. I’m a product of the Hopewell school system and you all have taken away everything that’s within reach of their homes away!
As a former teacher in hopewell city public school, i have personally seen the good that this program does in the hopewell community. Please keep it funded as a great way to keep the kids in hopewell active in a productive way.
