We, the residents and the taxpayers of Charlotte County Florida, ask that the Charlotte County School Board, Kim Amontree, Wendy Atkinson, Cara Reynolds, Robert Segur & Ian Vincent and the Charlotte County Superintendent, Stephen Dionisio, continue to allow parents the choice of masking/not masking their children for the 2021-2022 school year.
PARENTS make medical choices for their children, not school boards. Please do NOT adopt a mask mandate for Charlotte County and continue to allow for parental choice. There is ZERO evidence that masks mitigate the spread of COVID 19 and as such this should remain a choice for parents.

im honestly blown away by how fast this is growing. seeing so many people here showing they care about their kids makes me realize we really arent alone in this.

im still reading through all the stories people are adding to the comments and it really shows why we have to keep pushing for parent rights. ive been busy dropping off copies of these signatures to the board office so they cant ignore how many of us feel about this.

Please do not take away our rights to make our decisions on what is best for our children! As a mother with a child with disabilities, forcing a child that has sensory issues or anxiety to do something they are not comfortable with does impact their education if they do not want to go to school because they are uncomfortable.
Not only is the choice to mask a child that of the parents, a school district has an obligation to accept the findings of scientific research on the subject. At present there is no science to support such masking.
I have 2 children in Charlotte Co school system. I do not want them masked. Please be strong and allow us our parental rights. Please do research the science of masking children and their covid risk.
I have two kids in school. My little one is ADHD and want keep it on. My High schooler does not want to wear it either due to her face breaking out.
Please don’t put innocent children in the middle of a National political debate; we have faith in Charlotte County that you’ll do the right thing and uphold our Parents’ Bill of Rights. We’re counting on you.
Use logic and reason here and notice the children have been fine. Don't do it
