Idiotic to move the Christmas parade to daytime. Many people have small Christmas parade watching parties around town the night of the parade. I attend two, one being the Huie group and second the Oneonta fire dept. Who's idea was this? Terrible idea
It seems like the stores could stay open late for that one night...have hot chocolate or cider in your store to invite people in after the parade...don't change tradition just for one day of sales...keep the parade at night for the atmosphere!
This has been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember. The beautiful lights ,my daughters and now my four granddaughters excitement as we await the sound of the sirens of the beginning of the parade. If it's on a Saturday, that's fine. Just let it be at night . It gets dark early...5-6pm.Please?
It's a Tradition, keep it at night! It's always been first Thursday night of December, until the State Football Playoffs interfered with it. It just wouldn't be the same during the day. By the way, Who Are the Powers that Be?
If it stays during the day, we will no longer attend. When it was at night, we always ate out beforehand so that was money into the city and county. My children want lights and frankly, so do I.
Don't really see the point of a Christmas parade during the daytime where you can't see all the floats lit up with lights.. I won't be attending unless it is changed.
Keep the magic of the lights at night!!!

I'm a part of the parade I March every year and when I found out they were going to change it to the day I got extremely upset because the emerald night marching band loves being able to show up and show out with our lights
