ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL FINALLY REVERSED THE CUTS AND OUR VITAL FUNDING IS OFFICIALLY SAVED!! I AM COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY BY THIS VICTORY AND I WILL BE KEEPING A SHARP EYE ON THE BUDGET TO ENSURE THIS PROTECTS OUR GROUPS FOREVER!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FIGHTING THIS BY MY SIDE EVERY …
This is a vital resource to management run committees. It's very daunting for a parent to take on this role and with no support available parents will be reluctant to take on such responsibility without experienced helpers.

As a previous committee member this service was invaluable to us. Most of us had no previous experience and the members of this team helped with many aspects of the paperwork & running for the group

Just wrong on so many levels. ESP with 1140 hours coming in. Partner providers who are the backbone of the community are having services removed with no consultation(that I am aware of)

The children are the ones that are ultimately going to pay the price for this cut. When the committees can't get the support they need from a local Early Years Scotland employee - they will just close and there will be no settings left for the children to go to! So so sad that this hasnt been considered.

This have been a big shock to our village playgroup. The support the committee have had from our early years practitioner has been invaluable in not only the day to day running but the hard times we have faced this year. A big blow to committee led Playgroup’s

Our Playgroup will be absolutely lost without our advisor, she’s an absolute gem and I have no idea where we will get all her ongoing advice guidance and support from. Awful decision by the Council especially with the changes that will be coming in 2020 ☹️

i am shocked to learn that all early years groups are affected by this decision. We are a small group who have gone through some staff issues recently, Our EYS DSO has been fantastic and has helped me sort out major problems which had potential implications for the group. As someone commented, Committees are generally parent/ carer run who have little or no experience of childcare. We struggle at every AGM to fill positions, I worry this may become impossible if these changes are brought in, and it may cause the closure of many groups, which will be a disaster for small communities providing a vital service to parents and their children. The cuts also mean redundancy to the wonderful DSO'S that support us all.
