Please please could everyone take 5 minutes to sign our petition to save our family group run by home start in Hitchin and Letchworth. Please support this wonderful organisation which has and is still helping lots of families, some with financial difficulties, some with children who have special needs and many more various requirements. This group has been running for 16 years now. However regardless of its success and consumer need the district council have decided to withdraw their funding for this amazing group. This is shame and sad for lots of children and families who use the group regularly and some even depend on the group as their only source of socialising. Don't destroy this wonderful family we have all become and save our group!!! A big thank you to all that have taken the time to sign. Kind regards x
Seeing this kind of momentum feels heavy when I think about how much we have left to fight for. It is exhausting work to keep pushing but seeing people rally for these families gives me the resolve to keep going.

Homestart helped out for a couple of months when my youngest had colic and screamed all day and night. My volunteer Sue was amazing and really helped me get through this difficult time. A great local
Charity.

We have twice had a volunteer from Homestart come to help our family. After the births of our first two children I suffered horrendously with a chronic back condition and Homestart provided me with a volunteer who made such a difference to our lives. I cannot believe that the council is withdrawing their funding, organisations like this are an essential support system for families.

Charmaine and all the lovely ladies at Homestart saved my life. 8 years ago I was diagnosed with severe depression and with 4 children things were getting too much for me and I didn't want to carry on. I got my own volunteer and went to group every week. My youngest is now 8 and Charmaine still keeps in touch. To lose this group would be outrageous.

The Homestart group in Hitchin was a godsend when I struggled with 3 toddlers under 2 years old The volunteers are angels & I don't know what I'd have done without their support. As a taxpaying household I'm appalled that funding withdrawal is proposed for this invaliable

I have worked with Homestart for many years supporting families of children with special needs. Their work is invaluable. It is so shortsighted to cut this service. Long term it could save dependency on many services.

They would be completely insane to close something as amazing as this group that has not only helped but supported many families young and old for years. Would be a complete shame for this to end something that is such a big focal point of local communities! I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't have their help and support many years ago! There isn't another place or group quite like this place. Don't give up and let go it would be a HUGE mistake!
