This is a vital resource to management run committees. It's very daunting for a parent to take on this role and with no support available parents will be reluctant to take on such responsibility without experienced helpers.

i am shocked to learn that all early years groups are affected by this decision. We are a small group who have gone through some staff issues recently, Our EYS DSO has been fantastic and has helped me sort out major problems which had potential implications for the group. As someone commented, Committees are generally parent/ carer run who have little or no experience of childcare. We struggle at every AGM to fill positions, I worry this may become impossible if these changes are brought in, and it may cause the closure of many groups, which will be a disaster for small communities providing a vital service to parents and their children. The cuts also mean redundancy to the wonderful DSO'S that support us all.

Early Years Scotland has provided our Playgroup with support and advise for many years and I am shocked at decision to cut funding and the vital support they provide to Playgroups. It is ridiculous that parents with no experience in the education field are expected to manage staff and decisions surrounding how the group is run in the first place without taking away vital support to do so!! Its difficult enough finding parents willing to take these roles on without this added strain on the situation! I couldn't have done chairperson this year without my Early Years Scotland support officer. Please reconsider this decision.

Being involved with a playgroup committee myself I cannot express how valuable the support is to our group and the impact this will have going forward.

This is a vital service to the running of pre school and 2s groups. The support given to myself as Chairperson has been invaulable. I urge Aberdeenshire Council to rethink their decision.

As a previous committee member this service was invaluable to us. Most of us had no previous experience and the members of this team helped with many aspects of the paperwork & running for the group

Cutbacks that will only impact the early years education by closing down the volunteer committee run groups which once shut will never start up again due to the hassle.
The Council will never be able to fill the huge gap and the impact will be felt by the Primary Schools when the kids get into P1 not prepared and therefore off to a disadvantaged start in there education and life!
This is not the type of decisions I pay my taxes for.
Anyone that knows these groups will know that this will only have a negative impact.

Can’t believe this vital support network is being pulled from charity groups ran by parent lead committees. Who on earth has came up with this idea?!

We need vital groups
LIKE these for children to develop and parents and guardians to meet and support each other
