Like you, I was not notified of Council’s plans to change the zoning rules under the new Local Environmental Plan (LEP), which would remove eco-tourism as a permitted use from R5 Large Lot Residential land. Whether or not you personally intended to pursue something like this, the change affects all of us. Fewer permitted uses means less flexibility for landowners — and ultimately, it means our land will be worth less to future buyers.
It’s not just frustrating — it’s unfair. Council has pushed through these changes without giving most of us a fair opportunity to be heard.
the most effective way to respond is by collecting a petition — something that clearly shows how many of us were not properly informed and do not support this decision. A petition with names and addresses carries much more weight than a bunch of individual letters or emails.

I live on Blackbutt Drive @ Failford and was not aware that council moved to stop eco-tourism from all R5 zoned land. I totally disagree with the move by council, and definitey disagree with the situation. I think ECO-tourism is the perfect way to enjoy all we have to offer in our area without ruining the serenity and natural surroundings. Please reinstate eco-tourism.
8 Figtree Drive Diamond Beach NSW 2430 I Confirm that we, as land owners and rate payers, were not notified that MCCC has intentions to remove eco-tourism as a permitted use on all R5-zoned land.
I am the owner of 7 Panorama Crescent, Forster NSW 2428, and I was not informed by the council or aware of the councils changes to my property. This behaviour is unacceptable and unprofessional, and I do not agree with any change unless informed and agreed upon in writing
We do NOT want the eco-tourism ability removed for our property at 4 Belgraiv close, Red Head 2430. Also - we were NOT consulted or notified of councils' intentions to remove this feature/ability for our property !

No I did not receive notification of the changes. Yes it does affect my surrounding neighbors and possible future plans for our property. This distinctly feels like the change made from small lot rural to r5 residential on 18 acres. And again without notification. Stop the money grab or start providing the services to match the classification.
