We value the children and staff who make up the community at Holy Trinity Montessori, and we are petitioning that HTM hire an armed security guard to patrol the grounds during school hours while children are present. In an effort to offset costs, families who have signed this petition agree to an additional $750 per year in tuition costs in order to achieve a safer campus for our children and the staff who watch over them. We will overcome any financial obstacle in the way of making this a reality. The Nashville Police Department stated that in the assailant's manifesto, she had made plans to attack another school but chose NOT to because of the threat of security. Let us not be the school that becomes a target because we have no threat of security.

We demand action be taken by the HTM administration and that a certified, armed and trained security guard be hired to be on duty at all times children are present during school hours.

We believe the safety of our children and staff is worth protecting, and we do not accept that the current safety plan is the best practice or most feasible plan for all children who attend HTM, including those who are new walkers (Toddlers) and those who have mobile disabilities.

We demand the hiring of a proactive security guard who is prepared to take the necessary steps to stop an intruder or threat to our children.
