We support a professionally trained, unarmed Security Officer at SVdP who will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Help with traffic, drop off and pick up procedures
- Monitoring of the school premises weekdays from 7:30 am-5:00 pm
- Reinforce visitor check in at the west gate entrance
- Support and strengthen our current emergency preparedness plan
- Monthly Incident Reports, Tracking and Safety Communication
- Campus and neighborhood awareness
If your child's safety is important please sign this petition and forward it on to other SVdP families. The administration has admitted the campus is outdated and our multiple entrances make us vulnerable. Let's not wait until the retrofit in 3 years to create a safer environment for our children. WE NEED IMMEDIATE ACTION. The world and neighborhood have changed and many of the elementary schools within a 1 mile radius have taken these same measures years ago. SVdP students deserve the same security and attention.

GET IT DONE. Safety for our kids should be the #1 priority not budget talk.
Totally agree. Seeing how many random people just walk onto campus makes me nervous every day.
The west gate is wide open all day. It makes no sense. We need someone there to check people in.
3 years is way too long to wait. Our kids are here now. Do it today.
About time. Every other school in the area has had this for years. Why are we always behind?

The drop off line is a total nightmare every single morning. Someone needs to be out there directing traffic before someone gets hit.
