Final supporters
We the undersigned object to the parking along the zig-zag and single yellow lines outside of Ysgol Llywelyn, Trellewelyn Road, right down to Grosvenor Avenue.
This lack of care is dangerous, is putting lots of lives at risk and we fear nothing will get done until tragedy happens.
Even the lollipop man is struggling to see when it is safe to step out for our children as he cannot see past vehicles parked inappropriately.
We propose that either more railings are erected to stop the irresponsible parking, signage or markings on the road for ‘on the spot’ fines are implemented and a regular warden/police officer as it is very apparent that when there is police presence, this dangerous parking ceases.

I was standing out there again this morning watching the confusion near the crossing and honestly it makes me feel sick that we have to fight just to get people to stop parking like they own the whole street. People keep messaging me with their own scary stories about near misses and I am keeping a folder of every single one to take to the council soon because the silence from the local office is just so loud right now.

This was the situation in my children’s previous school in London. The result was a Nursery child was knocked down. It ihas to change now , we must keep the children safe. Together in collaboration with the school and police , there are a number of measures that can be put in place. It needs to happen now !
Very dangerous the way people park outside the school without a care. I often stuggle to see whats coming when trying to cross with my children.
My husband Cllr Brian Blakeley has fought this nightmare since 2004. He got funding for safety measures in and outside the school, but this is not working due to some inconsiderate parents that will park there cars on the white zigzag lines of the zebra crossing, on the pavements and put other parents children at risk of injury or even death.
Enough is enough. I've attended this scho and have had 3 children there. My 6 year old attends here, and almost got hit by a car mounting the pavement at speed. It's worse now than I've ever seen.
It is very apparent to those of us who walk to school (I live close by ...) That those who drive to school have disregard to other road users and pedestrians when they park in that area ...park somewhere nearer the school and walk ...it's not hard ...one foot Infront of the other in a continuous motion until you reach your destination turn around walk back ... I totally support this ....

The Children’s safety should be paramount! Those ‘choosing’ to park in areas which clearly have zigzag or yellow lines should receive a penalty notice as all other attempted measures continue to be ignored. I’m sure if the culprits were given a fine the problem would resolve very quickly as being hit in the pocket is one measure they aren’t likely to ignore!
