Please help commercial fisherman continue to have access to offload facilities in the Oxnard/Channel Islands Harbor. The new developments are trying to squeeze out the working waterfronts that feed you!

Please sign to oppose the Local Coastal Plan Amendment ( LCPA ) application from Ventura County and the developer, Channel Islands Harbor Properties LLC ( CIHP ). Clearly, the County and the developer have not considered the commercial fishing communities needs in the Harbor currently and in the future. Not only will this amendment affect Fisherman’s Wharf, our current unloading area but the entire harbor. At a recent meeting at the Oxnard Community Center concerning the proposal, it was glaringly obvious the Harbor Manager was the personal salesman and advocate for the developer and the developer had no clue that Channel Islands Harbor had an active and vibrant commercial fishing fleet. It was disappointing to say the least that the developer with the Counties help wants to turn areas of the harbor into a private enclave for the elite.
