Fisheries, both commercial and recreational are critical to the waterfront's tourism value. It's seafood and fishing families for sure, but it's also visitorship, vibrancy, restaurant profits, local hotel revenue -- even the knick-knack, sea shell and T-shirt shops do better in a harbor that supports its fisheries.

Channel Islands Harbor has an active commercial fishing community. The offloading facilities there are vital to that community. It would go against the main mandates of the LCP to remove them. I cannot believe you are even considering this action..

Keep Coastal-dependent uses alive in Oxnard. The Coastal Zone Management Act requires that this project adequately account for and prioritize coastal dependent uses like fishing.

New developments are trying to make this difficult AND take and not give, do these men and women deserve this? They have families, they work hard to put seafood on our tables. Its definitely not an easy task. Allow the fishermen and women to continue to have access to the offload facilities!
