CalOptima, the largest Medi-Cal health insurance provider in Orange County, CA, is threatening to terminate access for members who count on four nearby hospitals for care: Garden Grove Hospital, Huntington Beach Hospital, La Palma Intercommunity Hospital, and West Anaheim Medical Center.
Thousands of us depend on these four hospitals for the care we need. CalOptima’s decision to restrict the care we have access to at these hospitals could force us to travel further away to seek the same care we’ve grown accustomed to at these local, award-winning hospitals.
CalOptima’s action is counterproductive to their own mission statement to, “provide members with access to quality health care services”. By signing this petition, we are letting CalOptima's CEO and Board of Directors know that they should reconsider their decision to terminate the contract, and in doing so, restore the critical access to healthcare that all members have enjoyed.

These hospitals are vital to the Orange County community and many CalOptima patients use them. Keep the contract in place! This is going to hurt our most vulnerable community members!
I’d like to be able to go to Garden Grove Hospital. Fountain Valley Regional always took over 30 minutes, when I’d hit the call button. GG Hospital instantly responds. I just feel it’s better service & I believe the closest hospital to me. Since I have to ride my bicycle, when heading to the emergency room.
We need access to all our area hospitals. As someone that has been hospitalized for a long period of time twice in the passed 5 years it's important to know that I can go to my trusted hospital of choice. Sincerely Angelina Avina
Garden grove hospital is only 10 min away from my home. My family depends on this hospital for the emergency room and care since we have cancer and other health problems. Please keep these hospitals available to us!
HB hospital has saved my life and I’m disgusted Cal Optima is terminating the contract with them! I’ve had emergency gallbladder surgery, treated for Covid, and most recently bronchial pneumonia. I don’t know where I’d go without them!

Soy una mujer que sufro de mucho dolor crónico y pues necesito tener cerca a estos Hospitales, yo frecuento más al hospital de Garden Grove...y a veces no tengo transporte...
