On 3rd October 2019 robert burgess (37) was murdered in his grandad's back garden the person responsible for his murder has been sentenced today 1 May 2020 to just 8 years but was reduced to 6 years and 4 months . This is not justice! like so many effected by knife crime the sentencing does not fit the crime of carrying a knife and then murderer. I am starting this petition in a hope not only to make a higher sentencing for robert but many others.with your help I am trying to rise the point that there has been enough talk about tackling knife crime and it's time for action harder sentencing to be handed out thank you.

That sentence is an absolute mockery. The charge should never of been dropped to manslaughter, it’s MURDER! You carry a knife you have intent. Left children without a father and one he’ll never meet. Gutted for the whole family!
Sentences should reflect the devastation that the crimes have on the families. Innocent victims are not represented but the criminals are reported to have had a tough life/upbringing. I think the police do a wonderful job but the courts are diabolical.
Know one will be rehabilitated with the sentences that are being imposed. Re-offending rates are at an all time high. Knife crime is at an all time high. This sends out the wrong message. RIP Rob, I love you
Not only did he steal Robs life but also those who love him including his son and daughters and his unborn daughter! In the next few days his daughter will be born and will grow up never gett to meet her father because of this! RIP Rob
This is not justice, my cousin was also murdered last year from a stab wound to the heart. His killer got 7 years. Something needs to be done about these sentences! No wonder there’s still so much knife crime!! Give them proper sentences! Drug dealers get longer!!!!
Never will see a man that would look out for his family so much and now his kids will never see him again and what them people got for a sentence was unbelievable they should get longer if not they should never be aloud out of jail
Disgraceful. It's no surprise the CPS let this family down. There is too much knife crime in our own city at the moment and this sentence is an insult to the victim and their family.

Justice needs to be served properly to this horrandous human being who killed, savagly..poor Robert Burgess family and friends. My friend who is his Sister is fighting hard for justice, so please support her and his family, to get the justice they long deseeve, please sign this petition
