On December 12, 2024 Muhammad Dickson 12, was shot in his head inside his home. The Chambersburg Police responded to the 200 block of Birch Street on Dec. 12 around 6:23 p.m. for reports of a 12-year-old male who was shot in the head. When officers arrived, they found a man standing outside the residence, later identified as Anthony McCune. They then found
12-year-old Muhammad Dickson. Upon investigating police learned that McCune went to the residence to visit his friend which is Muhammad’s older brother. He brought a firearm that he carried in his jacket pocket. McCune left the firearm on a counter where the juveniles could access it. He also told police he had previously stolen the firearm. Two juveniles were interviewed by police and said they played with the firearm in McCune's presence. Then 12-year-old Muhammad sustained a gunshot wound to the head from that firearm. He was transported to the Chambersburg Hospital and was eventually flown to receive advanced care at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. After several tests Muhammad was pronounced brain dead on December 23, 2024 by Doctors at Penn State Hershey Medical Center Pediatric ICU. On December 25, 2024 doctors and nurses lead him in his Walk Of Honor down the hallways of Penn State Hershey Medical Center from his room down to the OR doors along with his mother, siblings, aunt, and stepfather walking behind him. He blessed and gave 7 people the Best Christmas Gift by donating his organs to them.

This is a petition to get the juvenile that shot and murdered my nephew Muhammad Dickson charged with MURDER and charged as an ADULT NOT A JUVENILE. He was only charged with (1 COUNT) INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER (M1) & (1 COUNT) RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING ANOTHER PERSON (M2) This decision that was made by the police/detectives is just ridiculous. Further more he was turned over to juvenile probation. This juvenile needs sentenced and sent to JAIL not a JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER.
Muhammad was only 12 years old when he was murdered. He did not deserve to die. Muhammad brought immeasurable joy and light to his family and everyone that knew him. His depth of his love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts. He was a great football player, baseball player, and wrestler. He was a great brother, son, grandson, cousin, and nephew. His smile and dimples brought everyone joy.

I have been staring at my phone for hours just thinking about how a life like Muhammad's can be lost to such pure carelessness and I keep wondering if anyone in charge is actually feeling the weight of this horror. Every time I get a notification that another person has joined this effort it feels like a physical punch because it reminds me that so many others are just as sickened by this tragedy as I am.

Seeing all this movement on the page is honestly overwhelming because for a while I felt like I was screaming into the void about Muhammad. It just makes me realize that people actually care about what happened to him and that gives me a tiny bit of hope that we might actually get some real answers now.

This was a innocent kid that didn’t deserve this at all I read the article and reading the good things people had to say about him makes me sick to my stomach that this happened to him I didn’t know this baby but reading each and every comment made me know him ..praying for this family that god give y’all the comfort that you guys deserve justice will be served

He admitted to the police that the gun was stolen so he knew what he was doing before the incident happened charging him as a juvenile is wrong he should be charged as an adult! Life in prison is more like it placing him in a juvenile facility is just a slap on his wrist!
I personally feel that Anthony should also be charged with murder if he would have never brought the gun to the house this would have never happened. He is guilty also.
I think it’s ridiculous the 16 y/o wasn’t picked up the night he shot Muhammad. They could’ve charged him with something that night to get him off the streets. He shouldn’t have been allowed to enjoy the holidays with his friends and family. Now he’s getting off easy with just juvenile detention. 16, he knew better. Muhammad was a great young man and deserves justice.

I feel as though he should be charged as an adult as a 16 year year old kid you know not to point a gun at another kids head and pull the trigger in my heart. I feel he knew what he was doing playing around or not you do not put a gun to anybody’s head. He is 16 years old and he street smart so he knew right from wrong. He needs to be trial as an adult. My nephew lost his life he can’t replace that.
