In April of 1990 my husband's 5 year old brother was shot in the head and killed by Thomas Rising. His 8 year old cousin was also shot in the face but by the grace of God she survived! Fast forward 28 years and a letter shows up in the mailbox and the phone rings both with news saying that Thomas Rising has been granted a parole hearing!?!?! This page is being started to help the family with efforts to raise awareness of what this man has done, it will also help with travel expenses and lodging for members of the family that plan to attend the parole hearing. Most of us live pay check to pay check and will be having to take time away from work to be at the hearing. We are planning a petition and and are getting flyers together. All of which take money. Please help us get the word out there so that everyone can hear this story and join us in keeping this monster in prison.

I have been glued to the phone all day because reading your messages about Josh is both completely overwhelming and exactly the reminder I need right now. It is hard to focus on groceries or bills when I know there is a hearing coming up but the fact that so many of you are listening makes the weight feel a little lighter somehow.

For 28 years this has haunted me and my entire family. Not a day goes by that I don't think about this night and how it has changed my life. It has taken me years to get to the point of have some kind of peace. And now they wish to release this guy? Let's hope that we all can come together to keep this man where he is.
This was devastating to this family. I would fear for the public's safety if he is released.
This child was my brother and I never had a pleasure of meeting him but I do think about him every day! This evil man needs to stay locked up he killed several people that day and harmed many others not only physically but mentally! He doesn’t deserve to get out!
I was the other victim (April Williams) who got shot in the face. He don't ever need to get out. He should have got the death penalty. Scumbag of the Earth.
He thomas rising should not be allowed to get out of jail. He took away my son from me and my other sons. He needs to stay there as his original sentence was.
Keep him locked up forever...

I live very very close to where this happened. He was not right or stable before this happened and I’m sure he is no better now. His mother used to come visit us, but I was told to never go to her house. Because people would say don’t go there because he’s not right.
