There should be no question in the matter. When children are left motherless and a man wifeless, it's not about the criminal's life. It's about the message to everyone else. Serious repercussions for serious crimes.
A DUI on a boat or car is the same thing! As a DUI victim, I feel very passionately about this cause!
He should get the maximum sentence as a deterrent to show others that we need to keep our rivers and boating safe for everyone, and that alcohol and driving a boat can kill.
I’ve known Megan’s family since Megan was 8 years old. She was almost like a little sister to me. It’s been just under 2 years, and I still can’t believe this happened! Mr. Mongan should be given the full amount of jail time allowed for the crime he has admitted to. He chose to drive a boat while under the influence of alcohol and as a result he is responsible for the death of Megan Wells.
