Killing of Dahlonega man's dog by Royston policeman sparks controversy

The recent killing of a former U.S. Army Ranger’s dog in Hart County by an off-duty Royston policeman will be the focus of a court hearing to determine if the policeman should face any criminal charges.

Hart County Magistrate Thomas Jordan, who is familiar with both men, is bringing in an impartial judge to hear the case, but the hearing, originally set for Monday, has been postponed to an undetermined date, Hart County authorities said Friday. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Justice-for-Booder/246490148872977

This is cop, who shot Booder, so his Chihuahua could take a piss in private. I can not say I have the full story, I just do not believe that this dog, this man's best friend should have been shot to accommodatea dog pissing... I am irate at the amount of LEO's shooting innocent family members. Something is wrong!

Your patience is appreciated as we navigate the complexities of this ongoing situation.

Sorrow for Booder and his dad. LEOs shooting our family pets has reached epidemic proportions. Unless the situation is dealt with, people will start to defend their animal members of their family. That could potentially be disastrous for all involved.

This officer had his own dog....he should know better. Pets are family. He had no right to shoot Booder out of convenience for his own dog to pee!! He is using his "Police officer" position to justify this shooting and this is WRONG!!

I used to trust all law enforcement officers - but sadly, no longer. Too many of them are yahoos with guns. Need jobs away from the public so they don't hurt another living creature.

Stories of cops shooting harmless dogs are too numerous to count anymore. Make an example out of this one.

This picture shows how the owner found his dog. The report says that he still had food in his stomach, so he was not going after the chicken or anything. Plus take a look at that fence, How is a puppy his size going to fit through those barbwire.?

This is Herrendous to say the very least . I remember this story well. They give this punk kids who have been picked on in school a gun after they have completed police school, do they give them PSYC tests to see if they are of sound mind , no n than they go out n feel threatened n shoot!!! It's a sad story . So sorry ur family had to go through this...
