A black man is walking down the street. That's how i'll start this. The police get a call from someone that a "suspicious" person is walking down the street. The cops come to investigate and find the black man. They pull over to investigate him. They get out of their cars and tell him to stop. He puts his hands up and turns towards them. He asks them what the problem is, and they shoot him. How does that make you feel? Angry? Disgusted? I hope both. Now imagine that's someone's dog. Today in Carter County an innocent Pit Bull was shot solely based on the breed that he is. People assume that because of a dogs breed it's dangerous. Not true. Rottweilers are said to be the same, yet I grew up with rotts from the time I was a child. Guess how many times me, my sister, or our friends got attacked? NONE. It's not the breed that should be blamed. It's stupid people like Officer Brad Hamm that need to be dealt with. If this were a person you wouldn't think twice about breaking into a riot and having him removed from his job, but because it's a dog, you think twice. What if this were your dog? Your family pet, that you love. That IS a member of your family. Better yet, imagine it were a golden retriever, or a Lab. Do you think Officer Hamm would have thought twice about what he did? Probably. This man should be held accountable for what he did. Even if you don't believe he should lose his job, he should at least be held accountable for what i imagine are going to be extremely high vet bills. If you have a heart and feel any way like i do, you'll repost this. If enough people pass this on, maybe we'll make our point know.

Ridiculous. If a dog isn't doing anything wrong you dont just open fire. People like this guy shouldn't be allowed to have a gun.

This is just pure laziness. He was scared because of a stereotype and took the easy way out instead of handling the situation properly. He has no business holding a badge.
