This petition is to show the members of the New York State Board of Parole that Joshua Horien (DIN# 01B0816) should NOT be granted parole at his hearing in June of 2022. This will be the 5th time that the family has needed to request that the Parole continue to deny Horien after he had appealed the Boards previous decision(s). Every time Amber’s family is faced with having to re-live the horrific details from her death and the community must prepare for the worst-case scenario that he may be released.
It has been twenty-one years since Joshua Horein took the life of Amber Brockway. Twenty-one years of memories that her family has lost out on. Twenty-one years that Joshua Horein has been incarcerated; yet is that enough to ensure that he would never harm someone again? Nothing has changed since the first parole hearing. The crime did not become any less brutal. Joshua Horein has not become anymore rehabilitated. At this time, the undersigned are requesting that the New York State Parole Board deny Joshua Horein’s parole release for another 24 months.

He was going to be a serial killer. Almost had my son arrested for his rotten actions. He affected so many families lives. Please don't let him out and making Joanne and the rest of us go through rhis
I personally worked this case and he was stone cold about what he did. Keep him away from the public or it will happen again!
I was a student of her mothers. She used to come by our class and bring much joy to us children. And that boy took her and the joy and light she brought to us and the rest of the world away forever.
I feel that this man should remain in prison. This family has to live the rest of their theme without their child. It’s not fair that he is up again for parole. I personally know this family and they are phenomenal people who have already been thru so much.
He ruined her families life and ours. How many know he had a plan to kill 3 more girls? I'm sure if he gets out we will have a serial killer among us. Our town and women will never be safe with him out. As the mother of Amber's boyfriend, I beg you...please say no

I can only imagine how horrific this ordeal must be for Amber's parents and family. Having to deal with the possibility of this cretin getting free every two years is the stuff nightmares are made of. Horien's cell door should be welded shut - for the next 50 years. The very idea of letting this murderer out early is galling.
