We The People on AISH are sick of BELOW POVERTY monthly payments. Our monthly bills with Rent, Groceries, Bills and medication that is NOT covered by AISH has some of us in debt with no way out. We need an increase of no less than $1,000 per month to keep us from being homeless. On average Rent is either $750(sub standard living WITH a health risk like bed bugs and other forms of health risks) to $1800 PER MONTH. Our monthly cheques are not enough to keep us from drowning in debt and has caused some of us to become homeless. Unlike the REFUGEES that claim that $6,000 per month is not enough, WE could live debt free with that amount to each and everyone of us. TRY living on $1,588/month for 1 year. Pay Damage Deposit, First month Rent, Food, Utilities hook-up fees and car insurance on $1,588. It is IMPOSSIBLE TO DO.

My husband is on AISH and i am his care taker and unable to work without it taking money off his checks. What we get is only barely enough for the both of us to live and thats EVEN with getting minimal help from both sides of the family. AISH needs to step up.
I am involved with 2 people who are on AISH. Neither of these men can make ends meet on the AISH program. The increasing costs of rent and basic utilities are resulting in greater use of the food banks and increased social isolation for both.
3 adult children with Autism + single Parent + having to pay for trips into town = NSF to keep these adults in supportive living = over $30,000 month burden on taxpayers. Increase to AISH a no brainer. Give AISH recipients respect "It is not their fault"!

How does the government think we can survive on such a minimal amount. It is heart breaking when I have to pick between bills and the medical that is NOT covered. Covered meds a month =200 give or take Not covered = 800 give or take
Been collecting AISH sinse 2004. It has been difficult too pretty much buy anything! Not a lfe for me.
decreasing Aish would put already low income Albertan's further behind and put strain on Canada's economy a better solution would be to continue raising Aish but get other province's to help pick up Alberta's debt.

There is no way I can do this!! I have sold everything I own...am on the verge of eviction every month....and that is with housing! I have a son who is a dependant and even though he is 18 he can't work. enough. How can you raise everything and leave us to die?
