We, the undersigned parents, respectfully urge Bright Star’s leadership to reconsider the decision to paint over the school’s nature-themed murals.

These murals are far more than wall art. They are:

• A Source of Joy and Calm – The gentle, nature-inspired imagery brings a sense of peace and wonder to the learning environment, helping children feel secure and inspired.
• A Unique Part of Bright Star’s Identity – These murals reflect the thoughtful care and creativity that set Bright Star apart.
• Supportive of Learning and Well-Being – The natural imagery helps spark imagination and fosters a connection to the environment, enhancing both cognitive and emotional development.

While we understand and appreciate the goals of the “Inspiring Environments” initiative, removing these murals seems contrary to the very spirit of that effort. The current artwork already cultivates a warm, engaging, and meaningful atmosphere — one that many families value deeply.

We call on you to:

1. Halt any plans to remove, deface, or alter existing daycare murals without public consultation.
2. Establish clear protections for current murals and guidelines for future ones.
3. Support restoration and maintenance efforts through local arts and education funding.

Please help us protect this beautiful part of our children’s daily experience.
