Chweni community which is under Mbombela manucipality ward 34 is in demand of a tar road (Spioenkop road)that passes to White river after a budget was released in 2020/2021 financial year and a steering committee was appointed since from last year feb/March where the project had to commence. This is directed to the provincial offices of the department of public works, roads and transport in Mpumalanga

The budget was promised years ago and we are still waiting for the work to start. I am currently coordinating with the local committee to demand answers from the provincial office.

This road will help on the large volume of traffic in Kabokweni. It will also help on uplifting some of the local business./economy
We hope that one day we are also going to be heard because the struggle is really draining for the whole community.
It is very difficult to get public transport to go to white river because of the road.
We are really in need of this road it's high time the government takes us seriously
We really need this road it’s been years and without progress where the budget would come and disappear after

Fed up with these empty promises. Our cars are falling apart every single month because of these potholes. Just fix it already.
