Standards for public education are far lower than they should be. This could be easily remedied by raising both teacher's wages, and the requirements for teaching. Both would raise the bar for public schools, telling them that it's not acceptable for a teacher to have minimum knowledge of their subject. This is particularly a problem in Middle School and High School, where students gain an understanding of the basic information they'll need in College.

The growth of this petition has secured us a formal meeting with the local school board district office. We are currently drafting our proposal to present specific adjustments to teacher certification requirements and pay scales during that session.

The schools ive been to have been so easy, the kids just fall over, by the time I left I'd swear they were brain dead. Fund our schools and help our teachers.
This petition is fairly vague and doesn't really have any reason to convince me why this is a problem or how paying teachers more would improve the education they produce. Also, saying "easily remedied" sounds pretty thoughtless and naive when you don't show any support for how this would help. 10/10 petition

Back when I was a Senior the kids at my school kinda just fell to the ground out of boredom. It took a real wake up call for them to even recognize someone was shooting questions at them. Our teachers need to be better armed to deal with these students but on their mere salary can we really expect it? Its like shooting fish in a barrel, fix this.
