We would like to see Tesco Glossop improve the pavement between the parent and child spaces and the store entrance.

The access is currently so bad that parents are often forced to walk in the road with young children. Due to the direction of travel in the car park, cars are constantly driving past the store entrance and this pathway, making this very unsafe. The pavement also slants sideways towards the road, meaning heavy trollies that have children in the child seats risk rolling into the path of this traffic.

We ask Helen Galletley, store manager of Tesco Glossop to:

1. Widen the pavement from the store entrance to the parent and child parking area, in line with the Environmental Health requirement.

2. Flatten the aforementioned pavement to stop trollies rolling into the car park. Add ramps to allow prams and wheelchairs down safely.

3. Remove the Timpsons advertising boards from the pavement outside the Timpsons shop allowing for clear access.

4. Stop storing trollies on the pavement and restrict storage to the trolley storage areas, allowing for clear access.

I spent time in the parking lot again this morning watching parents struggle to maneuver heavy trollies over that slanted pavement while cars zipped past. It is infuriating to see how little regard there is for the safety of our children when simple maintenance could prevent a tragedy. I am currently putting together a formal request to deliver to the store management team so they can no longer ignore these hazards.

Seeing this grow so quickly reminds me of every time I have gripped my steering wheel in fear while trying to navigate that path with my kids. This momentum gives me hope that I might finally be able to do my weekly shopping without worrying about whether we will make it to the store entrance in one piece.

Something needs to be done, it's dangerous!!!! Especially when people are queuing at the cash machine, you have to go on the road. And the ramps aren't smooth, you may as well be pushing the trolley straight off a pavement. The poor baby bounces all over the place!!

This pavement is not fit for purpose. I have never been able to push even an empty trolley with child in safely along the pavement. It makes for very dangerous walking on the road with a laden trolley and toddlers in the seats. Lets get it fixed!

Totally agree I'm not very strong and every time I pass this bit the trolley rolls away on the slant I have a small child at my side and baby in the trolley very difficult so I go Hattersley. They have more car seat trolled and under cover

This footpath is so physically difficult on it's own, add in queues for the cash machine, timpsons signs & trolleys as well as people waiting for taxis and other families going the opposite direction it's practically impossible!

As an insurance professional, I am amazed that a business such as Tesco would put lives of mothers, babies and young children in jeopardy. As a mum I have also had to battle with 2 children under the age of 2 when shopping here

Getting a trolly loaded with shopping and 2 small children safely down to the parent and child space is far too difficult in this store. In the past I have been injured by a car because of these access issues and would like something done before a child is injured.
