This is with regard to the Washing Machines issue that has recently taken the hostelites by a storm. We, the student body at LUMS, denounce the unilateral move of the administration to abolish a working system for a lopsided, costly and altogether unappealing alternative, Laundry Service. We are shocked by the administration’s aloof mannerism, its dictatorial negotiation of the issue and its short sightedness in undermining an already functioning system, without the prior consent of the hostelites! Hostels are a humble abode for the university’s out-of-station students. Their purpose is to make the life and passage of its students through their academic years easier and normal. By violating our trust, our private space, and by confiscating what is our right, and what we were promised as students of this respectable institution, LUMS is setting a pattern of unpredictability and instability in the LUMS Family. The email elaborates on our reasons and our demands, the signatories to this petition support the reinstallation and repair of the washing machines and dryers in the hostels.
The administration is still ignoring our messages regarding the laundry service switch. Send an email to the Dean of Student Affairs today to demand they look at our petition link. Post this link on your Facebook stories so the student body stays focused on the goal.

We hit our first big milestone today and the momentum shows the administration that we will not accept this laundry service replacement. Post this link on your Facebook wall right now to keep the pressure on the officials. Text three friends in your dorm and ensure they have signed this petition.

This is ridiculous. We are already paying so much for hostle fees and now we have to pay extra for laundry? Bring the machines back.

The new laundry service is way too expensive and it takes forever to get clothes back. Just fix the washers please!
