Thanet District Council are proposing to sell the tennis courts in Montefiore Avenue, Ramsgate,Kent, for residential housing.
The tennis courts are a well used local amenity.
Local residents have formed HOOT (Hands Off Our Tennis courts) to fight the Council's proposal. The residents are supported by their ward Councillors Cllr. Alan Poole and Cllr. Michelle Fenner.
HOOT forced the Council to withdraw the proposal last year but the tennis courts are once again on the disposal list.

The council has put our courts back on the chopping block despite our previous efforts to save them. I am currently working with our ward councillors to challenge this decision before it proceeds any further.

Seeing this level of support reminds me exactly why I learned to play on these courts as a child. This surge confirms that we are not alone in our fight to keep our neighborhood green and active.

The council is just seeing £ signs instead of the needs of local people. Keep the courts open.
