We urge the board members of Lake County & Lake County Forest Preserve District to approve the transfer of 4.7 acres of forest preserve property adjacent the Fort Sheridan National Cemetery to the Veterans Administration. If approved the VA has agreed to relieve the district from maintaining the cemetery. The additional land will extend the use of the cemetery for 50 years. We believe that the Fort Sheridan Cemetery is the proper place of honor for our nations defenders and provide comfort for their families. All the chartered Veteran organizations support this project.
