After many years of struggling as a business, Highbullen Hotel Golf and Country Club in North Devon has found the investment it requires to safeguard the future of over 70 local employees and countless local businesses that rely on Highbullen to generate revenue to keep their livelihoods going.
Further to the £8m already invested into the existing resort we have now submitted plans to add 58 holiday homes and 16 additional guest bedrooms.
The build will be incredibly sympathetic and is likely to be in phases over the next 5 years, thus not impacting the current hotel and leisure facilities.
We would like to ask for your support in the principle of Highbullen being able to welcome generations to come by ensuring its future is safeguarded.
Please sign this petition if you agree with the principle of seeing much needed investment in established businesses within North Devon in order to give the next generation of school leavers viable employment opportunities within their area.

Seeing this level of support for local jobs and our community leaves me a bit speechless. It is truly humbling to realize how many of you feel just as strongly about securing the future of this place as I do.

Wish you all the very best with your plans. As a resident of chittlehamholt I can't think of anything better for the village and am excited to see it develop. All the very best.
Think it's great but do feel the leisure facilities needs to go back to just being for patrons and local people, ie no Swimschool in their taking away free swimming time, frustrating you can't go with the kids!
I do understand the concerns of the local residents, however, feel this development will significantly benefit North Devon. I think we all need to bare in mind that Devon is the lowest paid county in the country and this will hopefully help to push up wages and reduce unemployment all year round.
I feel that the on-site expansion would be amazing, especially as a new road route is proposed. Such a beautiful hotel and grounds but it does need to be financially viable so expansion needs to happen. From what I see of the proposed plans it seems sympathetic to the site and will only impact in a positive way for local suppliers and additional staffing. Good luck xxxx
I feel this hotel and its staff provided my mother and I with the best break away we could have asked for, service brilliant and accommodation well suited to an elderly lady and her daughter.
The more investment into the UK Tourism market the better. This is a great Hotel, and with this investment will be a landmark destination.
