As a resident and/or property owner, of the more than 900 properties in, or surrounding, the Holiday Lake Estates Volunteer Fire Department, I want all Polk county officials to know that I support the continued efforts and existence of the HLEVFD. I ask that you consider the residents' needs and desires before taking any actions that may affect the HLEVFD and that you support their efforts to continue their services to the surrounding community.

The momentum behind this effort is undeniable and shows that our community will not sit quietly while our fire department is threatened. Please post the petition link to your own Facebook page and call your county representative today to demand they protect the HLEVFD.

I have been here 50 years, the fire department was built by the property owners of the subdivision for the subdivision and its people. I have donated my equipment and time, we need a fire department to protect the people and property and value, we need assurance for the safety of the people and their lives and property.
New lease terms appear to be unreasonable. HLECC board appears more concerned with displaying it's "authority" than needs of community when it issued eviction notice to FD during lease negotion process.
We need a fire dept to stay out here because when Sarah had her last stroke the fire chief and wife and Dowdy were the first ones at the house.
We need a local fire dept. It lowers out insurance rates and helps people in an emergency in a shorter period of time than we would have if we did not have a local VFD. The politics in the HOA interferes in community cohesiveness and now is putting residents at risk. Ignore the politics and support community needs .
I am 67, 3 time cancer survivor, and live in a wooded area. I absolutely want a fire department and first responders as close as possible.

I don't like to get involved in the politics of the community, but this can affect the rates on our homeowners insurance policy since the farther you are from help, the higher the premium. I'm on a fixed income, and have health issues.
