Having a fire station out this far is great for the just in case, I don't even understand why someone would want to get rid of something that can help save life's.

New lease terms appear to be unreasonable. HLECC board appears more concerned with displaying it's "authority" than needs of community when it issued eviction notice to FD during lease negotion process.

We need to have a fire department. The one that is currently in place does a good job.

Remember the first responders at the Trade Tower disaster, were the fire department. Where would countless people be without them. They are celebrated hero's. Imagine with all the open fires in our community during the dry season and the burning of leaves and trash and WITHOUT A FIRE DEPARTMENT???? Our community could not rest day or night. It is obvious by reading the comments summited by HLE residents, that there are many families who's health and well being are dependent on the HLE fire department. This fire department is not asking for us to give them a salary, they are providing us a service at no charge! This service is an act of charity and community responsibility for their neighbors. We believe if the HLE fire department is dissolved, those responsible will be held liable and accountable for any death, property damage, accidents and the increase in insurance premiums that can be potentially the result of not having immediate first responders inside the community. Are they willing to face these consequences? If so, these reckless members need to deliver this in writing to all members of the HLE community. None the less, we would like to evaluate both sides of this debate, but surely, there has to be a resolution for us to keep and maintain the HLE fire department. .

We need a fire dept to stay out here because when Sarah had her last stroke the fire chief and wife and Dowdy were the first ones at the house.

We need a local fire dept. It lowers out insurance rates and helps people in an emergency in a shorter period of time than we would have if we did not have a local VFD. The politics in the HOA interferes in community cohesiveness and now is putting residents at risk. Ignore the politics and support community needs .

Our community, young and old, needs a fire department capable of protecting lives and property.

We desperately need this fire department. All this juvenile behavior and nonsense that is going on needs to stop so the Volunteer Fire Department can get on with the business of protecting property and lives and get an official rating to bring our homeowner insurance rates down as they are astronomical because we have no rating.

I don't like to get involved in the politics of the community, but this can affect the rates on our homeowners insurance policy since the farther you are from help, the higher the premium. I'm on a fixed income, and have health issues.
