We the undersigned strongly believe that Hermosa Beach needs to replace the old and ineffective sports lighting at the Clark Field baseball/softball fields, the eight tennis courts at both the Community Center and the Clark/Kelly courts, the two basketball courts at Clark, and add lighting for the Lawn Bowling area. We believe the lighting levels are so low to be virtually unplayable and unsafe at night on the field and courts, but are also a source of unnecessary glare and light spill into the areas around Clark Field that need to be remedied with the newest sports lighting technology. We petition the Hermosa Beach City Council to help us make this happen in 2015!
The momentum behind this initiative continues to grow as more residents recognize the urgency of improving our local facilities. This level of support demonstrates that our community values both safety and effective infrastructure for our public spaces.

I live on 11th St and the lights are bright all during the Spring and Summer and light up our block too. I am sure the residents in the houses attached to the park would like to have the lights updated.

Lighting at the tennis courts is poor enough to be unsafe, and definitely ineffective, e.g. the lights are not even aimed at the inside play area of each court.

As a local Lighting Designer here in Hermosa Beach, I sincerely agree that Clark Field would benefit from lighting upgrades to better the viewing experience for evening games, and provide a safer environment for those playing.

An upgrade to the lights at Clark Field is long over due. The only field in Hermosa Beach that has multiple users, HBLL, Adult Softball and AYSO not to mention the basketball and tennis courts and lawn bowling. The users of Clark Field deserve to have a well lit sports field to chase their dreams on.

Having had two sons in LIttle League and other Hermosa Rec sports, this is a much needed improvement for our primary athletic field in Hermosa. It will benefit our youth and the surrounding community.

As a lifelong Hermosa Beach resident & local tennis pro, I strongly urge the city of Hermosa Beach to upgrade the lighting at all the above mentioned facilities ~ especially at the Pier Ave & Kelly tennis courts which are horrendously outdated. Get with the times Hermosa in offering our residents and the general public the proper lighting at these facilities which we rightly deserve!
