We are trying to promote public safety in flood zones in our Great Falls Community. Each year, more deaths occur due to flooding than any other hazard related to thunderstorms. Great Falls does not have clearly marked signs for flood areas. There is a limited number of announcements on road closure during thunderstorms. This can lead to accidental death ad unnecessary expenses and higher insurance cost. We want to work with the country and Department of transportation to get approval to clearly mark roads in flood areas. some examples are (but not limited to) notifying proper road closer in a timely manner, teaching the community about flood effects, what would happen if there were flood signs, and installing signs or gates near bridges or high water area to stop people from driving through.
my car got stuck last year cause i didnt see how deep the water was. we need these signs bad
