We live in Park View, IA and every moderate rain event, the street in front of our home fills to the point of flooding. Last year (2014), the entire lower level of our home was destroyed due to antiquated and inadequate storm water drainage system directly in front of our property. Scott County, IA officials have reported having studies accomplished but no actions has been taken. This area was outfitted for storm run-off back in the early 60's. Many changes have taken place since then which have dramatically increased the amount of water this system manages.
Our solution would be to have the pipes replaced, resized, or ??? in order to prevent our home, and others in our area, from being flooded again. This is NOT a flood plane so no one in the neighborhood carries flood insurance. You can guarantee we do now!
Please support our cause to have the storm water run-off system in Park View, IA - specifically in the 100 block of Hillside Drive - correctly sized by signing our online petition. changed to prevent any more homeowners from having to pay thousands of dollars in order to recover from a flood that was preventable in the first place.
County officials have indicated this would be of great cost to accomplish. We would expect that feedback from a group of people who didn't have to live through it and were not directly affected. Please help us raise awareness to this cause. Scott County, IA - you have work to do!

This does need to be addressed. Cars drive thru and create waves that create more damage. And they do not slow down. Many cars have stalled in the middle of the street. This could be an issue with emergency vehicles responding to a call as Valley drive seems to be considered a thru street for all of Park View.
This needs to be fix.

My basement flooded twice in 3 years. It is ridiculous that the county just keeps ignoring the drainage pipes. We are paying taxes for what exactly? Fix this.
