Tyler has been working for the Foothills YMCA since last summer. He has worked countless hours for our team, some of it paid, some of it unpaid, as his employee status has only been part time. Our team has grown far beyond what the Y dreamed of for its first year, and we are past the point of needing a coach that has full time status. Tyler's time is spent not only on the pool deck, but also in creating group specific and goal oriented workouts each day. He is the president of the SC YMCA Swim League. He also spends time getting swimmers registered for meets, hosting/traveling to meets, and talking with parents in the off time. In short, Tyler's dedication to the Bluefins has been immense and it brought about a State Championship in our first year! On a personal level, Tyler cannot continue to work as our head coach without full time pay and benefits. We cannot afford to start over again, and any new coach with a team our size would expect the same as what Tyler needs. Our family memberships and swim fees have helped keep the YMCA afloat financially during the rough last year, and we believe it is past time for the Y to compensate Tyler for all the hours he actually works. Please help us by signing this petition so we can let the Foothills Y know how much we care about having a coach and mentor as dedicated as Tyler is to our children.

We hit a powerful milestone today that shows the Y how much the community values Tyler. Call the Foothills YMCA main office and insist they review our demands. Post this update on your Facebook page and tag the board members to keep the pressure high.

Our daughter never wanted to participate in any sport due to coaches being negative and only desiring the win. Tyler has encouraged her to do her best and has been a positive role model. She now loves swim team. I am sure she and many others would not return to swim without Tyler. Swim is the reason we joined the Y. A State Championship with a first year team speaks volumes on his ability as our swim coach!

Tyler has been a great coach and leader for the team. His dedication to the swimmers is apparent in every practice and meet. Anyone who can lead a team to a championship in its first year of existence deserves proper compensation. We don't want him to leave!

Coach Tyler has been a terrific leader for our Blue Fins. He deserves to be compensated for how he has built the team. We have two swimmers in the team and for our family this is the best program at the Y now.

Tyler is an amazing coach and has helped my daughters grow not only with swim, but in character. The environment he creates is an encouraging family environment, and I believe this has made the team even stronger.
