Our daughter never wanted to participate in any sport due to coaches being negative and only desiring the win. Tyler has encouraged her to do her best and has been a positive role model. She now loves swim team. I am sure she and many others would not return to swim without Tyler. Swim is the reason we joined the Y. A State Championship with a first year team speaks volumes on his ability as our swim coach!

Tyler is an amazing coach. What he has done in the first year of this program is beyond what anyone could have expected. On a personal note, I cannot say enough how much I appreciate what he does and how he coaches my daughter. She loves him and has grown so much under his leadership. He deserves full time status and back pay for all he does. He will continue to be a great coach throughout his career. I just hope the leadership of our YMCA sees to it that it is here in Oconee County. To be honest I cannot even fathom why we are having to put this petition together and why he has not already received what he deserves. If we lose Tyler, we will demand answers.

Tyler has been an amazing asset to Oconee County. I've watch family after family stop by the pool to watch Tyler in action. They choose the Y swim team because of Tyler's encouraging, positive attitude. He is purposeful about connecting with students and children. Role modelling excellence, he pushes the older kids to succeed. The atmosphere that Tyler has cultivated among the teen swimmers is just amazing. Swim coaches spend so much time with competitive swimmers, we want a coach like Tyler in that role. He really is a primary influencer for so many kids. And he is producing winners!! Winners with character!

Tyler has been a great coach and leader for the team. His dedication to the swimmers is apparent in every practice and meet. Anyone who can lead a team to a championship in its first year of existence deserves proper compensation. We don't want him to leave!

My daughter, Brooke Hoffman, LOVES Tyler’s coaching style and how every practice is run. She never wants to miss a practice or event Brooke is a very shy, introverted child. I’m so proud of how far she has come. Her dedication to learning how to better her strokes and dedication to the team is a DIRECT reflection of Tyler’s dedication to the team. Brooke is a first year competitive swimmer. She was so nervous at try-outs. However, through all the work she has done in practice and Tyler’s dedication and time to each and every one of his swimmers, through individualized instruction, Brooke placed in the top ten in 5 of the 8 events she swam in at the Winter State Championships. Brooke beamed with pride when she could see how much time she shaved off her personal times. Tyler fosters a family-like atmosphere at every meet and every practice. The swimmers treat each other like family. They are always so positive and supportive of each other as swimmers. Brooke is blossoming. She is coming out of her shell and interacting with her peers. She absolutely beams every day. Tyler is an ASSET to the Foothills YMCA. Through his direction, this team won the Winter State Championship as a first-year team, exceeding everyone’s expectations. Tyler Will is dedicated and hard-working. He needs and deserves to be full-time and be paid for all the time he puts in. He’s not just developing a team; he’s developing amazing human beings who are incredible representations of what happens when the YMCA becomes an integral part of a community. Tyler Will IS the heart and soul the swim program at the Foothills YMCA. He has spent countless hours creating the team, running practices, individualizing instruction, and pushing these athletes to be the best they can be.

Coach Tyler has been a terrific leader for our Blue Fins. He deserves to be compensated for how he has built the team. We have two swimmers in the team and for our family this is the best program at the Y now.
