At Horace Mann, our vibrant Jewish community eagerly seeks to establish a Hebrew Language & Culture Club to foster a sense of belonging and cultural appreciation. Recently, El Rodeo has implemented a weekly after school Hebrew Club where students can learn about Jewish history and traditions , Hebrew language and the Hebrew alphabet .It's high time Horace Mann steps forward to ensure equality for all its students and that all BHUSD students have equal access to these programs .
By granting this request, Horace Mann would demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusiveness, aligning with educational practices that embrace diverse cultural backgrounds. Research consistently shows that students engaged in cultural clubs perform better academically and socially. They tend to feel more connected to their peers and school, reducing feelings of isolation or exclusion. By supporting the creation of a Hebrew Language & Culture Club, Horace Mann can significantly enhance the school environment, creating a more harmonious and supportive space for its peers.
Join us in urging Horace Mann's leadership to approve the Hebrew Language & Culture Club. Sign this petition to voice your support for cultural diversity and equal opportunities for all students at Horace Mann.
This would be so awesome for the kids. My son really wants to learn more about his heritage and he feels left out since his cousins at other schools already have this.

What a wonderful idea! I think that it also serves to create a home/school partnership whereby parents come to view the school as a place that supports them in sharing their culture with their children.
