Hello Fellow Hatties Place Residents!

This is the official petition for a neighborhood pool to be built in Hatties Place!

If you are interested in a community pool for our beautiful neighborhood please read and consider signing our petition.

Where did this Pool idea come from? Great question!
Back when my wife and I were looking around at neighborhoods, comparing locations, amenities and home builder's plans, we spoke with Dixie from Southland Realtors. She was very enthusiastic about how great Hatties Place was going to be, and when we asked about a community pool, we were told that it was in the plans and would probably come in with Phase II/III of the neighborhood. Great! Awesome news we thought. After moving in, we confirmed with other Phase I home buyers that they were told there would be a pool as well. Fast forward a year, and as Smithbilt works on Phase II and III, there is no more talk of a neighborhood pool. However, there is still a place that a pool can be placed in the neighborhood master plan. This petition has been created to show Smithbilt that many of us were expecting a pool and/or are interested in one being built in Hatties Place.

Worried about a huge HOA Increase? You shouldn't be!

Of course we are approaching Smithbilt with this request with the foreknowledge that a slight increase in HOA fees would be necessary to maintain a neighborhood pool. However, a neighborhood pool does not have to break the bank! Hatties Place will have 190 houses total when complete. With just a $200 a year increase this would put $38,000 a year towards pool maintenance (year 1 could go towards offsetting the construction costs). Based on research of pool construction and maintenance, this would be more than enough to cover a non-staffed pool.

But I wouldn't use the community pool so I don't want to pay for it. Consider this...

When you go to sell you home you'll want to ask top dollar, and you should! The homes in Hatties Place are beautiful and they should appreciate in value. You should be able to compete with other beautiful homes in adjacent neighborhoods. A community pool will only help increase the appeal of Hattie's Place to potential buyers! You'll reap the benefits of a more attractive community even though you never took advantage of the pool.

A community pool would offer a great place for neighbors to congregate and build on our already fantastic sense of community! And as I have spoken to so many people in the neighborhood, most everyone agrees it would provide the families of Hatties Place an awesome place to cool off during the summer!
