On the 27th of February 2024, at North-West University, a peaceful protest involving students who were and are still wrongfully rejected by NSFAS as well as the ones who haven't received their allowances occurred. As far as the issue of wrongfully rejected students is concerned, the institution had prior admitted that they sent corrupt files (results) to NSFAS which led to them being wrongfully rejected, thus resulting to "rejected" statuses and not knowing where they stand for the 2024 academic year.
The aim of the protest was to seek answers, but unfortunately things took a different turn and instead of the institution to address the situation at hand, they called the police who as soon as they arrived unprovokedly started releasing teargas and shooting students who were only fighting for their right to education, some students were arrested, one was shot and unfortunately the institution found Lungile to have been the one who initiated the protest which is not true and there's no concrete proof to show that he's the one who initiated the strike, as he was at Potchefstroom and only came later on and immediately stepped in as the president of the institution to ensure that students are protected, charging him with Unlawful and intentional disruption of classes.
Meanwhile a "she" who ran over 3 black students, security guards of the institution were seen defending her, a communique regarding this matter from the institution hasn't been released yet, this showing favouritism and racism at it's utmost best.
The only person whose intention was to represent students and their interests is being punished but the one who committed a crime against humanity is out there roaming free, this shows that the institution doesn't care about the well-being of it's students, and their lives are at stake most especially inside the institution's premises.
The main aim of this petition is directed to the institution, to remove any charges against Lungile's name, and by filling in this petition you believe that Lungile is a positive role-model to students, who wouldn't think twice about risking his life to protect the rights of students, he is a student before he is a leader and understands the struggles students go through on a daily basis, that he is innocent and therefore, any charges laid against him should be dropped with immediate effect.

We just hit 500 signatures and North-West University cannot ignore us anymore. They are busy pinning crimes on innocent student leaders while protecting those who actually hurt people. Keep the pressure on these cowards until they drop all charges against Lungile.

Unless there is enough evidence that Lungileis the one that started the protest and let to it being dangerous , it is very unlawful and unfair that he be charged .He cannot be charged based on assumptions.
Your police man should be held accountable for how things turned out that if you want to blame someone blame them and leave lungile alone, its because of leaders like him that we end up getting the education we deserve and if u want to arrest someone please arrest that girl injured others ababona nje kahle

The institution doesn't know who to blame. They just want to maintain their reputation, no student has to be charged here because it was the institution faults that students strike and called the police on students. If the institution didn't submit wrong results the wouldn't be a strike

So basically the school is trying to silence the voice of the students, kanti what was the point of having the SCC if the school charges them for standing up for students
