Petition Headline:

Reinstate Mr. Kleyi as Principal of Nathaniel Nyaluza High School - Stop the Unjust Suspension!

Petition Message:

We, the concerned community of Nathaniel Nyaluza High School, demand the immediate reinstatement of Mr. Kleyi as the principal of the school. Mr. Kleyi was unjustly suspended following a water protest on March 6, 2025, despite his efforts to deliver a water tank to the school on March 5, 2025, amidst Makhanda's ongoing water crisis.

On that day, learners rejected the water delivery, citing concerns about faecal contamination, but this protest had little to do with the actual water shortage and everything to do with the resistance to progress by certain teachers. The history of undermining and dismissing progressive principals at Nyaluza, from Mr. Moshwane to Mr. Tyala, must end.

Mr. Kleyi has shown dedication to improving the school, turning it from an underperforming institution to one with steady academic growth. Starting from 2021 ~ 62.5%, 2022 ~ 75%, 2023 ~ 80.6%, 2024 ~ 84.6%.

We can not allow the future of our children to be gambled with by those opposed to change. The Department of Education must reinstate Mr. Kleyi and investigate those responsible for inciting this protest and the violence that followed.

Enough is enough! Let’s stand together for a brighter future for our children and a principled, forward-looking leadership at Nathaniel Nyaluza High School.

Mr Klei must immediately be reinstated and department of education and independent body to investigate the real reason for his removal as I strongly believe it's not because of water crisis but ulterior motive. And if it's not investigated future of our kids is in danger in that school.

Mr Kleyi should be reinstated, we are tired of the teachers who destroy the lives of the principals in silence. SMT what was your role when learners showed an unacceptable behaviour towards the school principal?

As a Journalist in making, I once did an interview with him and I saw how much he loves his job as a principal and all the bright ideas he has about that school. So I also suggest that he should be given his job back

I feel the department should act in the best interest of the children and allow Mr Kleyi to resume his duties. Matrics will be writing soon, they sure need his guidance and not this drama.
