We the undersigned wish to express our support for continued parking along the Guerrero Street median in San Francisco for Sunday services.

Updates

August 11, 2016

The emails from the city have been circular and frustrating lately but I am still pushing for a clear answer. It is exhausting work to keep explaining why this space matters to our community. I am not stepping back until they finally listen.

August 11, 2016

Reaching this point has been a long and draining road. The momentum we have built confirms that people are finally noticing how much this matters for our Sunday services.

Although I walk rather than drive to worship services, I support the long standing tradition of allowing parking on the median strips. It allows more people to join with their faith communities.

Please let's keep Cornerstone accessible to people with cars! I travel all the way from San Jose and have an elderly disabled grandfather. Having less parking options will certainly make coming to church more difficult.

I support our neighbors who agree that it makes sense to allow for median parking during Saturday and Sunday religious services. Driving around looking for non existent parking is wasteful and creates congestion and pollution.

As a single mom living on the outskirts of SF with 2 kids aged 10 and under and juggling multiple activities, my family might not be able to continue to attend CSZ and its Saturday school for the kids if median parking is eliminated.

Please continue to allow median parking during religious services. It has been allowed for years and is vital for some of our congregants to attend our services. Eliminating median parking on Friday nights and Saturday morning would have severe impacts on us.

I'm a teacher at Sha'ar Zahav, and median parking means I can bring in teaching materials for my class each week. Without median parking, I won't be able to offer my students craft projects. Furthermore, my students' families rely on median parking to juggle multiple young children.

Median parking on Dolores and Guerrero Streets is often the only viable option for our elderly members at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church who no longer live in the city to attend worship services. Our church also serves as a venue for 8+ vocal groups who require parking for their weekend concerts and whose attendees then often patronize area businesses.

As a Marin resident driving to services in San Francisco, the median parking is often my only option.
