The council granted the license this morning and I am honestly still in shock. This win belongs entirely to the people who signed because you showed the town feels as strongly about this as I do. I am excited to get back to work and keep looking after these horses …

I have come down to westward ho! to do carriage rides to see how it all goes. I have been taking the rides as booked rides for only £10 per trip. fully insured, I aim to come back for the summer, adding to the attractions and things to do for both locals and holiday guests in westward ho!

I would really love to come back for the summer but I know licencing can take a long time to be approved and after all that could even be declined. The problems I face is that after putting all the application fees in which are not cheap they could decline me. So the idea of this petition is just to get as much support as possible to show the council/licencing team how much this town would love to have the horse and carriage come back each summer.

I honestly never expected this kind of response when I first put the idea out there. All of you are the ones showing the council how much this town wants these carriage rides to return. I am just a person who loves the work and I am truly humbled by the way you have all stepped up to help me clear these hurdles.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response to this idea and I never imagined so many people would want to see the carriage back in town. This momentum belongs entirely to the people who took a moment to show their interest. It is your enthusiasm that is giving this project a real chance.

As a company who also operate as a licensed horsedrawn taxi in Windsor, along a specialised route that poses no competition to other taxis in the local area, we wish you every success in gaining your licence. Horsedrawn taxis ars a wonderful sight and provide a great local attraction that can really boost visitor numbers!

I am supporting this new venture, as not only will it help promote Westward Ho!. but will help to bring in more visitors and help the local economy. I used to run a similar visitor attraction, and the Local Authority said that a taxi licence wasn't required, as it was purely a visitor attraction, and did not compete against local taxi companies

A great idea and got to be a crowd pleaser for both locals and visitors! More environmentally acceptable than a diesel/petrol 'taxi'!

A horse & carriage is not a taxi! It is an attraction, & a beautiful one at that. Please let common sense prevail & grant this licence. Thank you.

this is a business the council should encourage NOT class as an ordinary taxi service. look at Blackpool they are very successful there and have been for years.
