The district has officially reversed the uniform ban and our team will be allowed to wear our skirts again. This outcome shows the strength of our collective perspective on fairness. We will remain observant to ensure this policy change holds for the future.

District 300 has decided to ban cheerleaders and dancers from wearing their uniforms in school because our skirts are too short and it is distracting. We feel that this is an unnecessary ban and we want to petition against it. If you would like to join us in this protest, please sign the petition!

As a previous DC cheerleader, banning the uniforms will only cause tension and attitude between administration and cheer/dance teams. Team uniforms promote school spirit. Organized sports teams cannot wear their uniform to school, but boys can still sag their pants and show their boxers. Makes sense!

The only ones that are concerned about how we dress are the teachers , not boys. Just cause we're girls, we wear them for our selves not to impress anyone.

Why is this administration so ignorant? Those uniforms have been a tradition for longer than they have been working there.

Dancers and Cheerleaders wearing there uniforms help show school spirit and pep up the school for the game occurring later that day.

it's honestly so stupid to not have the cheerleaders and dancers wear their uniforms to school, but of course the football players get to wear their uniforms. All they are doing is showing school spirit. They aren't even breaking dress code!! Last year it was completely fine to wear the uniforms to school. It's ridiculous that this was changed.

I'm on the dance team and feel as though that this is an unnesscary ban, it takes away school pride. We can wear them to pep assemblys and football and basketball games. Where the same people in school can see us, so why does school make a difference?

It makes no sense to have the uniforms banned

Its not our fault if guys can't control their genitals. The school board has to check and make sure uniforms are appropriate before schools purchase them, so why can we wear them in school? And no leggings I've heard of? I'm sorry they're the only comfortable thing to wear and that they make butts bigger. You want us to dress appropriately in your eyes, the district can buy us our clothes. Not all parent can afford to buy their kids new clothes every other day. Guys can wear muscle tanks that barely cover their nipple but girls are being excluded from what we want to wear? Wow. People really know how society works. Are we in 1912?
