My name is Ashley West and I am a junior at Parkway West High School. All Parkway high school students desperately need to return to in person learning. Our mental health and our academics are slipping away the longer we are isolated in our rooms. I am tired of being silent, it is time for us as students to speak up to the school board and the Superintendent. We MUST return to school. Please sign this petition and get our voices heard! Students, parents, family members, friends, anyone and everyone please sign this petition to get Parkway high school back to in-person learning for all the Parkway high schools. My senior year was ruined...i had a virtual graduation on YouTube. Don’t put my brother and sister through this same craziness. Let them go back to school.
I want to go back to in person school. I haven't seen my friends and teachers in over 6 months. Making me stay home and stare at a computer all day is not school.
I have to go to INPerson school ASAP! I am suffering, my self esteem is going down , my grades and as a consequence my GPA is going DOWN! I had to drop an honor class and I am failing other honor class. I have to go to an In Person school!!!!
My Senior was home earlier this year and finished high school in isolation. It was devastating to his mental and social well being. Teens need to be in person to learn and thrive.
My son is a sophomore at Parkway West. Please send our teenagers back to school! They need meaningful connection with their teachers and their friends that no screen can provide.
Kids need to be with peers. They learn from each other. Over a screen is not the same! Believe teachers are trying but so much is being lost when they can’t see how kids are reacting. My son is doing well but even a kid with good grades is seeing them lower than in the past. Trapped at home without school & extra circulars is a huge mental health problem lying in wait for this age group. Doing the best for this population is getting them back like other districts.
High school students should be returning before K-8. They are more mature and can keep hands to self. The lack of social interaction is mentally destroying teens.

My daughter is deaf, and she is struggling with the interpreter situation in the close captioning! There is absolutely no reason our children are not back in school full-time!
