Binghamton University's Bartle Library tower plays its iconic bells, every hour on the hour. These bells however, are currently nothing more than recordings played through speakers. We’re asking President Stenger to replace the fake bells with real ones as his final act of leadership, creating a legacy that will echo for generations.
I was walking past the tower earlier and the speaker sound was just so thin compared to what those bells should actually feel like if they were real metal. People keep messaging me saying they miss the way the campus used to vibrate when the clocks struck and honestly I just cannot get that idea out of my head now.

I honestly cannot believe this is happening because I just started this on a whim during a long study session and now the momentum feels like a real physical weight in the air (in the best way). It turns out so many of you actually care about hearing authentic chimes across campus instead of those tinny recordings that drive me crazy every hour.

I just found out that we do not have real bells, and I am appalled absolutely appalled. I feel utterly betrayed.
