While we understand the need to replace the fountain due to structural concerns we are worried about the future of the Eastburn Plaza which has served as a landmark and focal point on campus since the construction of our library. The fountain has been a meeting place, social spot and cliche photo op for about 12 years and we hate to see it go. We are petitioning facility services to consider these facts when deciding on a replacement structure for the current fountain.
We would like to work with faculty to decide on either a new and sturdier fountain that will stand the test of time or another centerpiece for the campus that will serve the same social purposes.
We also believe Indiana Wesleyan University does not need more statues. The statues currently on campus are a wonderful reminder of out beliefs and mission but are not suitable for the social aspects that the Eastburn Plaza has always catered to. Please do not build a statue there.

The volume of support displayed here has provided the leverage needed to request a formal meeting with Facility Services. We are drafting a proposal that outlines design alternatives to the proposed statues for the Eastburn Plaza site.

keep the fountain. it makes the area feel alive unlike the rest of the silent walkways.
Seriously hope they listen to us on this. Eastburn isnt the same without the sound of the water. Its the one spot on campus that feels like a real hangout.
NO STATUES PLEASE. We really need a place to actually sit and hang out. The fountain is way better than some piece of bronze.
My friends and I take pics there all the time. It just wouldnt be the same plaza without the water. Fix it dont replace it with something cold.
The fountain is like the heart of campus. So many memories there between classes. Please dont just put up another boring statue.
