I live on canvey and I'm constantly battling through traffic! Houses and flats keep being built on canvey meaning more people and cars yet nothing is being done regarding ways on and off. Canvey is over populated and this is becoming more and more of an issue too many cars not enough roads! I am sick of it we need to change this and the more people who sign this the more likely we can get somewhere!
The traffic is just as bad today as it was when I started this because the developers keep building without any concern for our exit routes. We are nearing five hundred signatures and hitting that mark is the only way to force them to look at our situation. Keep pushing this forward because I am not going to stop until we have a real plan for a third road.

Takes an hour and a half some mornings to do a 20 minute journey. My place of work on numerous occasions has pulled me up for lateness, regardless of leaving an hour grace to get to Basildon! Still late for work. Embarrassing and people’s jobs are at jeopardy.

In the 44 years we have lived here a third road has been being asked for. It needs to happen now, or we will still be discussing it in another 44 years. Even if it’s another road parallel with Canvey Way which would allow the A130 to be a dulled carriageway realising pressure on the A13.

I work bas hosp it can take up to 2 hours there and 1 hour and halfback during rush hour it is ridiculous for a 15 min drive.the pollution of us all sitting in traffic is ruining the planet and our health which is the reason I'm working in hosp to help peoples health.

1 broken down bus in benfleet gridlocks the island for 2 hours ! Just another example of an overpopulated community not being given adequate roads to cope. God forbid there was an emergency and we needed evacuating which could be possible with the gas terminals nearby !

Both the existing roads "off" the Island, converge on the same roundabout, so there is, effectively, only one way off the Island. It's a second separate road on and off the Island that we actually need. Councillors need to argue from this stand point.

Traffic problems are increasing all the time and one set of road works brings the island to a standstill. A third road is essential in case of an emergency to help evacuate or to let emergency services on
